An image or text was rejected
Why a platform sends something back, and what you do about it.

The platform decides, not us
Every platform has its own rules about what it accepts: proportions, file sizes, lengths, counts. Those rules also change without notice. Ploffo checks as much of it as possible beforehand, but the last word always belongs to the platform itself.
The proportions do not suit the placement
This is the most common one. An image that is fine for a feed is too wide for a story. Ploffo warns about that before it goes out, with the preview alongside, so you see what the platform would make of it.
The answer is rarely to crop. Supply the material wider and let the builder lay out each format separately — that is exactly what it is for.
The text is too long, or breaks in the wrong place
Platforms cut long texts off with a see more. In the decision file a line therefore runs through your text at that point. If your most important sentence sits after that line, almost nobody reads it.
Too many hashtags
Instagram allows five per post. For the other channels we show no number until we have checked it with the platform itself — a number from a blog is not a number.
Text inside the image
Some placements carry text baked into a picture badly, and advertising formats have their own limits for it. Ploffo checks the text in the image, not just the text underneath. That is unusual, and it catches exactly the mistake you only see once the post is already live.
What you do
- Read in the email what the platform sent back — the reason is usually there word for word.
- Fix it in the working file.
- Put the post back in the queue. The rest of your schedule stays as it is.
